It's been very busy, getting back to scenic painting.
Here are a couple of new posts one, La Lolla sea wall from a few months ago.
The other my most recent work, shows Allan Rothero's influence on my painting.

Joan and Dad love their sweet peas growing on the inner left wall and all the beautiful flowers in the yard.
I feel very fortunate to have two such encouraging
parents, this painting is of their home.

Been working the old scenic painting last couple weeks, fun crew and project.

This view from Lindo lake has been fun to paint.
I look forward to getting back to my work next week.

What a beautiful light today, with winds blowing the landscape clean and vivid.

Went today to a building downtown, that I had a paint studio some 16 years ago.
This painting is from a photo taken while on a hike with my friend Lupe, at Elfin Forest in San Diego north county, earlier this month.

Very fun weekend, the heat is welcome but look forward to some cooler days this next week.
Have started a few paintings since last post, here is one very near finished, from up near Santa Ysable.
Took a fine hike in Elfin Forest, beautiful day!, started a work from a photo taken there.

Beautiful day, have been able to get at the easel the last few days.
It's been very fine showing my family and friends my new paintings,
then talking with them the last few days.

Here is one from up Mt. Woodson on my friends Lupe and Bills, it's not quite done but wanted to post it
I look forward to painting that landscape more.

Every step in the road is influenced by the previous one.
This painting is from photographic reference
taken two years ago.
Most of the art work in this series will be from that spring,

I'm also working on some paintings from new photos and doing some plein air.

Here we are the first morning of Spring for this year.
Nice and grey so far, sure the sun will be out soon.
Primed some new boards yesterday, plan to start a couple of new paintings.
Got the vegetables in yesterday, tomatoes, eggplant and brussel sprouts
for now. The chard and lettuce from last year are up and tasty.

Just finished lunch, pickled beets with german sausage, yum.
Have a lot of chores to do before getting to my easel, putting in some veges.
Thought I'd post the first in this series of landscape paintings.

Here it is Sunday am, rained very hard last night, thunder woke me up just to hear the show.
Have had some time to paint last week, starting to feel better the more I paint.
I'm unraveling the blocks that have developed over the years as a commercial artist.

Hi, this is my first evening writing at my new blog. Very cool feeling, as it is one of many actions finally taking place.
I have been an artist for most of my life, it's been in the last decade or so that I really focused on art for hire, as part of a process.
I'm going to work on a couple of landscape paintings I've been working on just the last few weeks, I'll publish this now and be back after awhile.
